      When sugar (carbs) are high, insulin is high. When insulin is high, sugar is more easily turned into these lipids. Insulin is the fat-building and storage hormone. When the blood sugar is in balance the sugar is metabolized first and so insulin doesn’t get too high. This is why diabetes can be linked to high triglycerides also.
